Margaret Louise Berry, age 70, of rural Pryor passed away peacefully on May 17th, 2021 at her home. Private graveside services were held on Friday, May 21st, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Bryan Chapel Cemetery in Boatman, Oklahoma. Services were under the direction of Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care in Pryor with Pastor Andy Pilant officiating.

Margaret was born on September 28, 1950 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Owen "Popcorn" Baker and Lula "Witt" (Callison) Baker. She grew up and attended school in Pryor, where she graduated from high school in 1968. She attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education; she later earned a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from UCAT in Tulsa. She worked for a few schools over the years, including Watts, Foyil, and Adair but she spent most of her career with Chelsea Public Schools. She taught K-8th grade at Chelsea for 13 years and retired after the span of her career of 31 years where she was elected Teacher of the Year three different times from various school districts.

Margaret was, above all, a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and loved spending time with her kids and grandkids which was the most important part of her life. She also enjoyed RV camping, decorating her home (especially for the holidays), scrapbooking, and traveling. She and her husband, Gary, traveled to the lower 48 states on their Honda Goldwing motorcycle and they also enjoyed going on multiple cruises with family and friends.

Margaret was a devoted Christian and was a member of the First Church of God, in Pryor. This is where she was baptized and later married her college sweetheart. Little did she know back then that she and Gary would have been celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary on September 1st of this year. For the past few years, she attended Pleasant View Baptist Church in west Pryor. Margaret is survived by her beloved husband, Gary, of the home; two sons, Jeremy Scott Berry and wife Michelle of Fort Gibson, and Gary Paul Berry II and wife Sharron of Wagoner; seven grandchildren, Caleb Scott Berry, Colby Gage Berry, and Katelin Michelle Berry all of Ft. Gibson and Tyler Scott Calhoun, Breanna Sue Berry, and Landon Paul Berry of Wagoner, and Kirsten Dawn Berry of Oktaha. She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen "Popcorn" Baker and Lula "Witt" Baker; daughter, Kimberly Dawn Berry; brother, Bill Baker and sister, Barbara Thompson.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Margaret's memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, online at www.komen.org.
