Ronald Raymond "Ronny" Moore, 73, of Newcastle, died Monday, May 17, 2021, at his home. The son of Raymond Moore and Wanda Evelyn (McCauley) Moore, he was born July 23, 1947 in Oklahoma City.
Ronny graduated from the Newcastle High School in 1965 and was the valedictorian of his class. He received a bachelor's degree from OU in Mechanical Engineering and also did some post graduate work towards a master's degree. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Firestone Tire and retired in 2006. Ronny married Sharon Linda Welch on January 24, 1992 in Edmond. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming, raising cattle, being outdoors, and building things. He was very caring and thoughtful of his loved ones, always reminding them to be safe and careful and keep him informed of their whereabouts. Ronny was also an animal lover, taking in many abandoned dogs and cats through the years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Ebb and Emma McCauley and Jerry and Mary Moore.
Ronny is survived by his wife, Sharon Moore; mother-in-law, Edna Welch; stepdaughter, Radhi Hensley; grandchildren, Kaleb Hensley, Keith Hensley, and Mike Hensley; one sister, Cheryl Moore and husband, Tom Barton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty and Kip Smith, Janet and Russell Page, and Gary "Butch" and Doniece Welch; as well as nieces and nephews, other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 21, 2021, at the Glory Bound Church in Marlow. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery in Marlow.
