Sandra S. Brooks, age 73, passed away on April 11, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital. She was born on February 20, 1948 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Fannie Mae Brooks and Osie Lapsley.

She loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age, on Easter Sunday at Pilgrim Baptist Church under the late Rev. John Dixie Jr. She continued as a faithful member under Rev. Sam Shade Jr., and current Pastor Raymond Dix Jr. She enjoyed serving others starting out as a young matron, then transitioning to Ruth Circle under the guidance of the Pilgrim Baptist Church Missionary Society. Sandra presided over the missionary society as President and was instrumental in unifying the circles into a combined unit, in order to serve all members through service, outreach and visitation. She never wavered or slacked in her obligation. Sandra never met a stranger, and was well known for her faithfulness, loyalty, and for building bridges between churches.

Sandra also worked many years at Lincoln National Bank now known as Wells Fargo and was a beloved School Assistant with Fort Wayne Community Schools. She attended Central High School and graduated with the class of 1966.

She leaves to cherish her memories, children: Natasha Lowery of Indianapolis, IN, Jalen Brooks and Jashanek Brooks of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren: Jayde Fincher and Cameron Lowery of Indianapolis, IN and two great grandchildren: Christopher Palmer and Sade' Olofinqua; brothers: Roger (Evelyn) Brooks, Richard Stevenson, Sr., Kenneth L. Stevenson, Will (Shirley) Stevenson,
Duane (Vickie) Stevenson, Michael Stevenson, all of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Robert Stevenson of Houston, Texas, two sisters; Karla J. Brooks, and Donita Mudd, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Mae Brooks, father, Osie Lapsley, brothers, Howard Stevenson, and Otis Brooks.
