Myra Bearden Jenkins, age 82, of Southside, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Funeral services for Myra will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Collier Butler Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from noon until the hour of the service. Lisa Kennedy will officiate. Burial will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Southside. Myra loved her family and enjoyed quality time spent with them. She also liked to take long drives, watching Alabama football, and playing cards. Myra was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all of her heart and taught her children to do the same. She is preceded in death by her husband Haskell Jenkins; daughters Carol, Diane, and Leslie; granddaughter Mandy Vinson; great granddaughter Jalin Gracie Lontz; parents Richard and Lucille Bearden; and many siblings. She is survived by her son Jeff Jenkins; grandchildren Gabe Vinson, Jeremy Johnson, Deanna Simmons (Jeremy Dowdy), Chad Johnson (Kelly), Kyle Johnson, Ashli Alverson (Andy), Hali Jenkins, Jessica Jenkins, Annie Parker; and numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Malaki Johnson, Chase Johnson, Hunter Green, and Hayden Dowdy. The family would like to express special thanks to Janice and Sammy Buckhanan, for all you have done. Janice took care of Myra during her final days and we do not know what we would have done without you.
