Evelyn Lackey White, 88, of Martinsville, VA passed away Monday, May 17, 2021. She was born December 4, 1932 in Bassett, VA to the late Nannie Hylton Lackey and James Paul Lackey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Pauline Lackey Brown, Katheline Lackey Turman, Irene Lackey Manor, and Elsie Lackey Trent; brothers, James McCray Lackey, Hylton Hartley Lackey, William Kenneth Lackey, and Earl Maynard Lackey; and grandson, Bradley Ray Anderson.
Evelyn was a longtime member of Collinsville Church of the Brethren and was a most recent member of Chatham Heights Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Racers and Women's Auxiliary of VFW.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra Draper (Bill), Sandra Henry (Bill), and Toni Ingram (Vernon) all of Martinsville; grandchildren, William Draper (Alison), Allyson Hodge (Tonya), and Brian Ingram (Jodi); great-grandchildren, Annabelle and Rowan Draper, Hayden and Braylen Ingram, and Miranda Hodge; and sister, Nancy Lackey Edelen.
A visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel and other times at the home of her daughter, Sandra Henry, 111 Lakemont Court, Martinsville, VA 24112. A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Roselawn Burial Park with Pastor Roy McVey officiating. Livestreaming will be available at facebook.com/NorrisFuneralServices
