She was born on May 17, 1917 in Oshkosh, Nebraska to Willard Perry and Laura Bell Roudebush Vance. Opal married Karl Franklin on December 21, 1935 in Goldfield, Colorado. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1985.
She is survived by daughter Karla (Joe) Fisk, grandchildren; Kevin (Melissa), Kelly (Andreya), and Joe, great-grandchildren; Austin, Gunner, Kyle and Mia, brother Kenneth Vance, a nephew, two nieces, and many friends and extended family. She is preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
She enjoyed crafts, reading and fishing. She also enjoyed visiting with people and no one was a stranger to her.
