OBITUARY
Denis M. Busby
DECEMBER 29, 1967 – APRIL 27, 2021
Obituary of Denis M. Busby
Mr. Busby was born on December 29, 1967 in Temple Texas, and gained his angel's wings on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He is the son of Hannalore Busby, Columbia, SC, and the late Marvin McCune Busby. He married Jessica Rene' (Sharpe) Busby on January 8, 1999 after being set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. He was handpicked for the love affair that began after that first date. Their love was evident in everything that they did and in everything that they said. They loved each other all along. Words of endearment between them were that they would love one another to "infinity". Denis McCune Busby only lived 53 years, but what he did in those years was worth more than a million years.

If you ever met Denis, you had a friend for life. He was a truly special man. Denis had a tough exterior but, on the inside, he truly had a heart of gold. Denis would drop everything to help a friend or family member in need. Even though he looked tough on the outside, you knew you that you had won him over if you ever got that silly little grin of his. He had a captivating personality, and a wonderful contagious laugh. He was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was always joking, laughing, and just enjoying life. If a person's life is measured by the friends he had and the memories that he created, Denis led his life to the fullest. He will be missed sorely by everyone, but he will always be affectionately remembered by his wife as "Sweet Sexy" and his friends as "Big D". His love of automatic rifles (blowing up things, as his wife would say) bass fishing, hunting, and riding UTV's were just a few of his many hobbies of which he was so passionate for. Denis and his wife, Jessica took many long trips to travel together and rode their UTV creating many beautiful memories. Denis always took the time to carve their initials into a tree wherever their travels took them. They had such happy and adventuresome times.

Although we will miss him very much, and he is far away, we should not worry about Denis as he is in heaven now, and he is probably already fishing for the heavenly host and seeing what he can blow up.

Denis was graduate of the Sumter Area Technical College in Gunsmith and had training in Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in armament repair, small arms, and artillery repair. He served in the Army National Guard fulltime as a WG 11 Automotive Inspector, and as an E6 Staff Sergeant when he retired on the military side. He was also a 91F Armorer on the Army side on the weekends. He had extensive knowledge in armament, electronic, electro optical, and mechanical systems. Denis was also deployed after "911" to Camp Phoenix, Afghanistan in "Operation Enduring Freedom". After retiring from the Army National Guard, Denis contracted for the Department of Defense and the State Department several times to various locations over-seas. He trained foreign military, which included Afghani, African, and Iraqi soldiers on weapon repair and maintenance.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Jessica Rene' Busby; daughter, Ashley Michelle Bowen;, mother, Hannalore Busby; mother-in-law, Sheila Truesdale; father-in-law, David Sharpe; step mother-in-law, Ophelia Sharpe; step father-in-law, Patrick Truesdale; sister-in-law, Wendy Michelle Dye; brother-in-law, Will Dye; nephew, Sean Owen Dye; grandchildren, Hunter Joyner, Colton Joyner and Ethan Joyner; beloved dogs, Marley and Bella and many friends.
