Betty Louise Hale, 94, died Friday, October 2, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Liberal, KS.
She was born on August 30, 1926 in the Golden Plains Community in Seward County. She was the daughter of Ople and Bessy (Boring) Rowan.
She graduated from Liberal High School. On August 22, 1950, she married Leon Hale in Liberal Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2012.
Betty was a music teacher and owner of Brier & Hale Music in Liberal, beginning in 1955. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Taylor Music and Duckwalls.

Betty was always extremely hard working. She was a great cook and would often cook for gatherings after church. She enjoyed serving hot cocoa and lemonade to the That Liberal High School Band at half time, didn't matter if it was home or away. She was a member of the Friends Church in Liberal.

Betty is survived by:

Alisa Henderson and her husband Scott Liberal, KS

2 grandchildren
Tyler Henderson of Liberal, KS and Emily Henderson of Dallas, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, her parents and her brother, Robert Rowan.

A graveside service will be held for Betty on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 10:30am at the Liberal Cemetery. Services will be presided by Pastor Jeff Nagell.
