Ruth 'Carol' Meyer (Coons) formerly of Fairbury, then Plymouth, peacefully slipped away at Westfield Quality of Care, in Aurora, NE. She was born December 1, 1941, in Danbury CT. The oldest child of Ruth and Earl Coons, Carol grew up in Danbury, attending school and church. She was mother to three children, Tom, Lisa, and Amy.

Carol had a huge heart and great sense of humor. Her heart led her to a life of service, driving a bus, caring for the elderly, and later working with adults with development disabilities.

She loved and rescued animals of all sorts, and spent the happiest years of her life breeding and raising Arabian horses, with the love of her life, William 'Bill' Meyer. There, with sun on her face, the nuzzles of her horses, and Bill by her side, Carol felt the closest to God. After Bill passed away, Carol moved to Plymouth to be closer to Amy as her Alzheimer's progressed. While living in Plymouth, Carol enjoyed walking her dog Frosty, attending St. Paul Church, and attending Bible study.

Carol had a lot of loss in her life, but is reunited in heaven with those who wait for her; husband Bill Meyer, son Tom Drake, parents Ruth (Bud)Martin and Earl (Marjorie) Coons, and her beloved Aunt Janie and Uncle Don. That is, of course, if she can get over the rainbow bridge with her beloved Frosty, without stopping to play with all the pets there!

Left to celebrate her life are daughters Lisa (Rob) Cornell of The Villages, FL and Amy (Eric) Hansen of Plymouth, NE, Grandchildren Robby Cornell of Owasso, OK and Jillian Hansen of Plymouth, and two great granddaughters Makaylee and Ralynn Cornell. She is also survived by sister Debbie (Al) Kovacs, and brother Garry (Sharron) Lang, and three stepsons, Gary (Michalene) Meyer, Duane(Mary) Meyer, and Don (D'Aun) Meyer, and numerous step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.

Carol will be greatly missed by those who love her. Over the last six years, her Alzheimer's disease had rapidly taken away all that made her who she was, so we find solace knowing that she is at peace. Isaiah 40:31
