September 24, 1953 ~ May 15, 2021

Joe Davis, 67, of Grandview, Texas passed away May 15, 2021 in Waxahachie, Texas. He was born September 24, 1953 to Mary and J.L. Calahan.

He graduated from Cleburne High School in 1972. He was a Carmen and Locomotive Engineer for Santa Fe Railroad. Later when Santa Fe merged he started Davis Painting Contracting and continued it until his death.

Joe met the love of his life at dances sponsored by Ramblin Rhythm Band at the Old Cleburne Armory. They were married July 31, 1976 at First Methodist Church of Godley. Joe was a member of First Methodist of Cleburne. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He loved guns, hunting, fishing and rodeo. Joe was the ultimate cowboy. He loved watching westerns (new and old) and John Wayne.

Joe had more one liners than anybody could count and most can't be repeated out loud. Lately, Joe had taken up the "hobby" of selling and raising cattle. He absolutely loved being outdoors feeding cows or hauling hay. Joe never lost his cowboy spirit. He always tried to keep his crews working and his family happy.

Survived by his wife, Lisa, children, sister, Becky, brother, Ricky Davis and other family members and friends.

Service will be conducted May 20, 2021. Burial will follow in the Godley Cemetery in Godley, Texas...CPFH
