Danny James Cole passed away at his home in Lusby, Maryland where he resided with his daughter Frannie, her husband Chris and his many grandchildren. He was surrounded by family and under the care of Hospice of Calvert. He suffered from Congestive Heart Failure but lost his life to complications of Rectal sigmoid Cancer which had metastasized quickly with his diagnoses being given March 26, 2021 and passing on May 3, 2021. He considered his grandchildren the most important people in his world, and he always stood ready to help them out with whatever they needed, even getting them out of trouble. (Time, and time again)

Danny had counted his days until the time when he would again see his momma Wanda, his father James, and his baby brother Michael. He was also reunited with his brother Larry who passed 24 hours before him as well as his stepson Billy Satterwhite, whom he will rest beside at New Hope Baptist Church.

He leaves behind his sister Brenda her husband Larry Powers of Richmond VA, His brother Gary and his wife Linda of Spotsylvania, Va., his ex-wife and lifelong friend Cathy Armstrong of Tennessee, her siblings and their spouses all from VA, which he thought of as his own brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own, his mother and father-in-law of Locust Grove, his friend Diane of Burr Hill and her family, his daughter Frannie and her husband Chris who cared for him for until his last breath on this earth, and his beloved grandchildren.

Danny was born and raised in Virginia, spending most of his childhood in the Spotsylvania area. He raised his family, resided in, and considered Locust Grove his home even after moving to Maryland in 2017 when he came to live out his final days of congestive heart failure.

Danny was a residential house painter until his heart failure wouldn't afford him the energy to continue working, however he never stopped advising and critiquing others and was quick to offer suggestions. Per his own admittance, his dream was to once again paint with his brother-in-law Johnny Webb.

Many people from many walks of life knew and loved Danny, which was impossible not to do if you knew him. He had a heart of gold and would give all he had even if that meant doing without, which he became no stranger to. He lived life his way on his terms and did what he enjoyed right up to the very end. He loved life, laughter, and a good party. He was always down for hanging out and was a "ride or die" to all he knew. He had a blissful I am who I am about him demeanor, and everyone knew it. He will be missed by many and remembered by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, Virginia. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m.

Following the service and burial family will celebrate his life and break bread at his in-laws on White Oak Drive in Locust Grove all are welcomed.
