Mark Lee Simmons, 66, of Huntsville; died Saturday, May 1, 2021, at home.
He was born Wednesday, February 16, 1955, at Barstow, California; to Richard Lee and Mary Sophie Simmons.
Mark married Candi Ozenia Rosa on Friday, July 1, 1977, at Barstow, California; and together they were parents to two children. He retired from military service after proudly serving his country for 21 years as a United States Marine; was a cook for 20 years for the Huntsville High School, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mark loved to help others, was an amazing husband and father, and was loved by the school students where he cooked.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister-in-law, Mary Simmons.
He is survived by his wife, Candi of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Alicia Simmons of Elkins; one daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Bill Casey of Rogers; four grandchildren, Liliann Wages, Jett Simmons, Malia Buchanan, and Raylee Casey. He is also survived by his three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Linda Lingren of Witter; Bonnie and Joe Cap of Daggett, California; Cindy and Steve Price of Springdale; two brothers, Richard Simmons, Jr., of Aurora; and Dan Simmons of Georgia; and lots of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, May 24, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church with Larry Mitchell officiating. Pallbearers will be Brian Simmons, Thomas Lingren, Robert Moore, Pat Brown, Norm Markley, and Jason Salter. Interment will immediately follow services at Aurora Cemetery, Huntsville. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
