SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services will be conducted at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery for Marie J. Lamb, age 85, of Shreveport, LA on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastors of Grace Community Church. Visitation will be at Centuries Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Lamb went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2007 after a brief illness. She retired from Big Chain Cafeteria as a hostess with over 20 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved the Lord. She formed the foundation for her children's faith by reading the Bible to them when they were children.
Mrs. Lamb was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred G. Holt, Sr., and her second husband, William N. Lamb, and two sisters, Jewel Land and Audie Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Shaw and husband, Robert, of Shreveport, LA; one son, Fred Holt, Jr. and wife, Becky, of Shreveport, LA; two grandchildren, Marie Lewis of Shreveport, LA, and Christy Vines and husband, Aaron, of Junction City, LA; five great-grandchildren: Trevor, Jakob, Brennen, Piper, and Ashton.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Sue Moore for her loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church of the donor's choice.
