After graduating from Woodlawn High School, where he was a member of the 1969 State Football Champions, he graduated from Northeast Louisiana University. He was employed at Ashland Oil Company at the time of the accident.
Larry is survived by his twin daughters, Katy and Kristy; his parents, Dr. Hillman and Billie Deaton; brother, Phillip Deaton and wife, Vickie; sister, Peggy Elliott and husband, Ralph, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a loving extended family.
Larry's parents held onto their faith, dedicating their lives to his support and care. It would be Larry's wish for his mother to know how much he loved her and appreciated the years of tireless care, sacrifices and unselfish love that made Larry a medical marvel.
The family wishes to thank all the friends and caregivers for support provided over the years. A very special appreciation to Reunion Plaza and the dedicated staff. Thank you to Dr. Fry and the staff at Wadley Regional Medical Center for their compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held 10 am Friday, November 9, 2007, at the Fuqua-Everett Memorial Chapel of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at 3103 Kevin, Texarkana, TX, and will receive friends from 6-7:30 pm Thursday, November 8, 2007, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Texarkana Friendship Center, Inc., 620 W 4th St., Texarkana, TX 75501.
