INDIAN WARS
Enlisted on 3 December 1867 in New York City into the 7th U. S. Cavalry. At the time of the Battle of the Little Big Horn he was in George Yates, Company F. Each company had assigned a few men to remain with the pack train to give assistance. That probably saved his life, as Yates and his company were wiped out.
When the pack train came up they fought the remainder of the battle on Reno Hill with Reno, Benteen and Weir.
