Johnny Ray Mann, age 74, of Bristol, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at his residence. He was born on February 9, 1947, in Oneonta, Alabama, a son of the late Curley Winfield Mann Sr. and Grace Battles Mann. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Curley Mann, Jr.
Johnny was a proud husband, father, and brother. At the beginning of his career, Johnny was employed at Perrigo Pharmaceuticals in Greeneville, South Carolina. Upon moving to Bristol, Tennessee, he started working at Glaxo Smith Kline where he worked as plant manager for several years. He was also an active member of Kettlefoot Rod & Gun Club. Johnny always enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Doris Mann; son, John C. Mann and wife, Stephanie; daughter, Kathryn Mann; grandchildren, Brandon, Christopher, and Gavin; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home in Bristol, Tenn. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Ballad Hospice and Bristol Regional Medical Center for all the care and support they have shown to Johnny.
