Carl Junior Grindle of Fredericksburg, Texas (formerly of Charter Oak, Iowa) passed away at Knopp Health Care in Fredericksburg, Texas on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the age of 86. Carl had been in ill health the last few months.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Izaak Walton Bartlett Park near Deloit, Iowa. Burial with Military Honors will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Edison Union Cemetery in Boyd, Wisconsin.

Carl Junior was born the son of Eugene and Haddie (Ecker) Grindle on June 1, 1934 on the family farm near Boyd, Wisconsin area.

Carl was united in marriage to Shirley Koeppen on December 22, 1957 and to this union four children were born: Sharon, Kevin, David, and Karla.

He served his Country during the Korean War with the United States Army.

Carl worked at IBP in Denison for 15 years and 20 years at Farmland. For a few years, he owned Carl's Lounge in Charter Oak, Iowa where he also served on the Fire Department and was past Fire Chief. Carl was a member of the VFW in Ute for many years. Carl had a passion for gardening, fishing, dancing, camping, and playing cards.

In June of 2004 Carl married Scotty in Fredericksburg TX, where the VFW hall brought them together.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Mae "Scotty" Scott Grindle of Fredericksburg, Texas; children, Sharon Hinrichsen and husband Marvin of Moorhead, Iowa, Kevin Grindle and wife Lynette of Carter Lake, Iowa, David Grindle of Soldier, Iowa, Karla Grindle (Mark Bryceson) of Macon, Missouri; stepdaughter, Carolyn Whitten and husband Fred of Fredericksburg, Texas; sister-in-law, Joann Grindle of Sebacka, Minnesota; brothers-in-law, Dave Wright of Rockford, Illinois, Melvin Scott and wife Linda of Doss, Texas; sister-in-law, Mrs. Annabel Stein; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Haddie Grindle; siblings, Mary Ritter, Frank Grindle, Everette Grindle, Kathryn Dettmer, Milton Grindle, Lewis Grindle, and LullaBelle Wright; 2 sisters and 1 brother in infancy; and daughter-in-law, Marsha Grindle.
