Martha, my dearest friend, was born in 1937 in spite of what her obituary and gravestone state. Her DMV driver's license had her birth year incorrect and she never corrected it due to the hassle. Her family, therefore, chose to use the wrong year on her obituary and stone.
Martha L. "Mugs" Miller, of Waterford, died at her home on Sunday, May 16, 2021. She was born July 17, 1938 in McKeesport, PA, a daughter of Alvin C. and Hazel Brown Murray. Martha married John William Miller Jr. who preceded her in death in 2001. She worked for H & R Block for 38 years as a tax preparer at the Waterford and North East offices. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing and hunting, and was basically a part-time mechanic working with her husband. Primarily, she enjoyed her family and was very involved with her grandchildren, being their biggest fan at all their sporting events. Martha was the rock of the family and mentor to many people.
Family members include her daughter Sharon Miller and wife Karen of Tennessee; son John William Miller III and wife Susan of Waterford; her grandchildren, John William Miller IV and wife Mary of West Middlesex, PA, Emily Young and fiancé Tom, and Holly Mathis and husband Tyler of Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Logan, Zane, Brittany, Brandon, Wesson, Maverick, and Briley; three great-great-grandchildren; her special niece and nephew Jamie Trunzo and husband Paul of Glassport, PA; her dear friends Barbara Brann and Tracy Miller; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Sylvina March and Alma Gur; and brothers James C. Murray, Eugene Murray, and Jack Murray.
