Benjamin Walter Smith II, died in the hospital May 9, 2021 at the age of 78.

Ben was born on May 5, 1943 at McMinneville, OR to Walter Ralph and Marjorie Helen "Margie" aka Jimi Bradley(Busard) Smith. In May of 1945, Walter and "Jimi" were divorced. Little Benjamin (Benny) was taken to Wyoming to live with Walter's parents, Ben and MableSmith.

Ben spent most of his early years in Wyoming with work ranging from construction, auctioneer, mining, machinist and landlord.

He later settled down in Battle Mountain, NV., where he made a business renting mobile homes while working for mines in the area.

Ben enjoyed flying, hunting, camping, telling stories and collecting many things.

He leaves behind sons, Ralph Wesley (D), Christopher William, Benjamin Walter (Butch) (D),Daughters Nikki Lou, Rebecca Smith, Granddaughter Payton Smith. Also considered family son John Elder, Grandchildren Heather, Cindy, Jordan. Christian and Jamie Elder.

Celebration of life will be held at Battle Mountain Civic Center June 3, 12-3 p.m. He will be buried July 10 at the family cemetery in Wyoming.

Ben's and his father's remains will be interred on the ranch in 10 July 2021.
