A Bloomfield resident, Mrs. Jean Parker Grigsby Wright age 86 passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at her residence with family by her side. She was born on February 19, 1935 in Washington County to the late John Newton and Vena Holt Grigsby, Sr.
Jean was the former co-owner of Wright Grocery and Wright's Grill and was a member of Bloomfield Baptist Church. In addition to her family she enjoyed the piano and floral decorating.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son Roddy Wright, a grandson Chad Wright, a sister, Martina Grigsby Curtsinger, a son-in-law, Woodrow Francis Downs and a daughter –in-law Lynn Harper Wright.
Jean is survived by her husband of 67 years A. G."Hook" Wright, one daughter, Tina Downs of Bardstown, 3 sons, Larry (Cathy) Wright of Louisville, Lonnie Glenn Wright of Lexington, Craig (Amanda) Wright of Bloomfield, 2 sisters, Judy Jenkins of Louisville, Sandy (Donnie) Hale of Bloomfield, a brother, John Newton Grigsby II (Cindy) of Mt. Washington. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Rod Parker (Mandy)Wright, Adam Wright, Katie(Jonathan) Mattingly, Parker Downs, Shelby Wright, Jackson Downs, Lila Grace Downs, 2 nieces that she considered as her grandchildren, Melanie Hale Draper and Melinda Hale Mudd. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Landon Wright and Ethan and Adalee Mattingly.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Wright will be 11:00am, Wednesday,, May 19, 2021 with Bro. Leland Parks and Richard Carwile officiating. Interment will be in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin. Friends may call from 3:00-8:00pm Tuesday .
