Genevieve Jane Mitchell, 92, of Vienna, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Oneida Healthcare. She was born on November 20, 1923 in Westfield, MA, the daughter of Kosmo and Josephine Milanowski Janisewski. She was married to Senior Master Sargent William M. Mitchell for 40 years. He passed away in 1985.
She was a seamstress and a homemaker, and she loved doing crossword puzzles.
Genevieve is survived by six sons, Ronald (Julie) Mitchell of Vienna, Paul (Cindy) Mitchell of Blossvale, William (Lynda) Mitchell of Boonville, Jeffrey Mitchell, David Mitchell of Vienna, and Robert (Tracey) Mitchell of Asheville, NC; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Todd; two sisters, Alice Jacobs and Helen Janis; and two brothers, Edward Janis and Henry Janisewski.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Genevieve's memory may be made to the North Bay Fire Department.
