Major League Baseball Player. The oldest of the three baseball playing Cross brothers of Cleveland, Ohio, he had a very promising career as a catcher. Amos, caught for the American Association Louisville Eclipse club from 1885 to 1887. His promising career was cut short when he became sick after playing only 8 games in 1887. He acrued a liftime average of .268 with 1 HR and 56 RBI in 117 career games. His brother Lave, was a star for 21 Major League seasons who played with 4 Philadelphia teams in 4 different leagues, while his other brother Frank had a 1 game "cup of coffee" with the Cleveland Naps (Indians) club in 1901.
