Herman Roloff, 96, Minot, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021, in a Minot hospital.

Herman Peter Roloff was born May 4, 1925, in rural Battleview, a son of William and Mary (Hanson) Roloff. The family moved to the McGregor area where he graduated from McGregor High School in 1944. Following his graduation, he assisted his parents with the operations of the family farm.

On February 10, 1951, Herman enlisted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country in Korea and was honorably discharged on November 10, 1952. Following his discharge, he was employed by the State of North Dakota as a Highway Patrol Officer.

Herman was united in marriage to Betty Weeks April 19, 1959. They made their home in the Burlington area, where they raised their daughter Jill. He began working for Midwest Motor Express in 1963, and remained there until his retirement in 1986. In 1992, they moved into Minot.

Herman was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor and Minot. He helped with numerous church ctivities. He was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Club.

In later years, Herman did volunteer work at Trinity Health and the Norsk Hostfest.

Herman is survived by s loving wife of 62 years, Betty; daughter, Jill, both of Minot; brother-in-law, Arlo Moberg; sister-in-law, Shirley Roloff; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by parents, siblings, Curtis Roloff, William Roloff, Marcella Olson, Adeline Kihle, Lucille Anderson, Lawrence Roloff and Mary Ann Moberg and niece, Jane Anderson.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church or a charity of choice.

Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 18 at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot. Burial took place at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
