Rev. Lockhart was a native of Louisville, GA and moved to Augusta, GA early in life. He was a proud graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School class of 1959. He served briefly in the military before returning home to attend Augusta Tech. He retired from Proctor and Gamble after 31 years and never missed a day of work. He was later called into the ministry and studied at the American Baptist Theology Seminary receiving a diploma in Christian Training. He also received a Bachelor of Theology degree from Andersonville Baptist Seminary. He was an associate pastor at the Antioch Baptist Church and retired as the pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church in 2020 after 16 years of devoted service.
