Mrs. Annie Joyce Adair Roberts, age 86, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021. She was born on May 26, 1934 in Polk County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Vester Adair and Betty Worthington Adair.
Mrs. Roberts was a faithful member of the Congregational Holiness Church of Cedartown, Georgia for her entire life, where she served as Secretary/Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, Organist, Trustee and even Deacon. Her love and dedication to her church was always the primary focus of her life. She loved her church with a passion and never wanted to miss a service. She would schedule her vacation between Sunday morning service and Wednesday night service, meaning her vacations were never very long.
She was an avid Cedartown Bulldogs sports fan, whether it was Little League or High School; football, basketball or baseball or any other sport she would always be listening on her transistor radio. Even when she could watch it live on Facebook, she preferred to listen on her radio. It was often said that if Cedartown High School had a marble shooting team, she would listen to them on the radio. Of course she was also a Cleveland Browns fan, because she was so proud of our own Nick Chubb for "making it in the pros" as she would say. Her prized possession was her framed picture with Chubb.
She worked and retired from the finance business. She worked for many years at Lovern's Finance and then went to work at Columbus Finance. Mrs. Robert's was the manager at Columbus Finance for many years before her retirement, spending over fifty years working on Main Street in downtown Cedartown.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by her son, Leslie Roberts and his wife, Deanna (DD); her daughter Lynn R. Mitchell; two grandsons, Dustin Roberts and Brett Mitchell (Kiersten); one great granddaughter, London Mitchell and one more on the way, Baby Girl Mitchell scheduled to arrive in August; one sister, Florine Adair Williams (Marvin) of Macon, Georgia; one brother, Kenneth Adair (Wilma Nan) of Augusta, Georgia; a special brother-in-law, Johnny Roberts; special adopted family members, Phyllis Cox, Tony Mitchell and Tammy Floyd and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Roberts is preceded in death by her parents and husband, James E. Roberts.
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Annie Joyce Adair Roberts will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at four o'clock in the afternoon at the Congregational Holiness Church of Cedartown with Rev.
