Sarah Alice Stowe Hayes

Sarah passed away on May 16, 2020, at the age of 83 with family by her side. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil Maurice Hayes, of 54 years on March 18, 2016. Her surviving relatives are her son, John Lawson Hayes, his wife Suzanne, and their two wonderful children, Hunter Colton Hayes, and Hailey Autumn Hayes. Sarah is also preceded in death by her younger sister, Susan Stowe Branham of Gastonia, N.C, two nieces, Lesley Branham Bennett & Gigi Brantley, two nephews, Jason Branham & Fred Knight and one great-niece and two great-nephews.
Sarah was born to Thurman Javen Stowe and Ethel Cox Stowe on May 15, 1937. In 1955, she graduated from Belmont High school, Belmont North Carolina. She attended Sacred Heart Junior College in Belmont, N.C. for one year. She later received her AA degree from Austin Community College in Austin, Texas and also attended the University of Texas in Austin.
She married the love of her life on May 20, 1961 and was happily married for 54 years. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels in High Point, N.C. and for the Literacy Council in Austin, TX. She was a member of the Roann's club in Austin. She was also a Champion Contract Bridge player.
Sarah also became part of the Daughters of the American Revolution after many years of research, she proved our family was an active part in the American Revolution. Her greatest love was God, Jesus Christ, her husband Cecil, their son and his family. She adored and loved her sister Susan and ALL the relatives in North Carolina. She wanted ALL of her friends in Raleigh, N.C, High Point, N.C, Austin, TX, Rockport, TX, and Elgin, TX. to know that she valued each one of you and loved every moment the lord gave her with you.
