Kevin Phillips was born on 14 May 1958 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, to Jacqueline Tuckfield, age 22, and Geoffrey Phillips, age 22.
Siblings: Ann Elizabeth (born 1956), Michael (born 1959), Steven (born 1961), Lisa Jane (born 1966, sadly passed away 3 days old), Lisa Jane (born 1968).
Kevin has 2 biological daughters with Linda: Sarah Jacqueline (born 10 May 1994, sadly passed away on 24 June 1997 at the age of 3), Ellie Anne (born 2001). He was also the proud 'father' to Linda's two other children - Ryan and Lisa
Kevin was a member of the Professional Golfers' Association for over 40 years and had qualified and played in the British Senior Championships. He spent the last 26 years of his life working as the head professional at the Winterfield Golf Club in Dunbar, Scotland, where he was given an honorary membership in October 2015.
Kevin was always keen on golf from his childhood and joined Meltham Golf Club, where the pro at the time recognised his talent and told his parents he could make a career in the sport. He worked briefly at Meltham and then had a job at a club in Cheshire.
The year before he passed he had decided to retire and move to Sanday, Orkney with his wife Linda and daughter Ellie, where he was expected to take up a new post at a local island golf club.
Unfortunately Kevin died peacefully in his sleep, at home on the island of Sanday on the morning of 14th April 2016, sadly before he had a chance to work at his new position.
Funeral service was held at Seafield Crematorium on Friday 29th April 2016 at 1pm.
