Raymond Earl Hunter, 90 of Memphis, Tn. Passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 5, 2021. He was surrounded by his wife, his youngest son and his granddaughter. Raymond was born on January 6, 1931 to Jesse Luther and Jewell Lemore Hunter in Union City, Tn.

He attended school in Pinson, TN until the 10th grade when he left at age 16 and went to work for the railroad. He worked for the railroad for 46 years retiring in 1993. During that time he worked for the GM&O, Frisco and Burlington Northern railroads. On Nov. 16, 1951 he was inducted into the United States Army where he served his military time in Korea. On April 14, 1952 he married Bonnie Marie Barrells. He was a hard worker, dedicated and loving husband and father who enjoyed the outdoors and watching his sons and grandkids play sports.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Bonnie Marie Hunter of 69 years; his youngest son,Tony Ray Hunter and his wife, Cindy of Arlington, Tn.; a sister, Barbara Sutton Burcham of Brandon, Ms.; four grandchildren, Andrea Hunter Feld, her husband Pat and their daughter Audrey his only great-granddaughter, Seth Tyler Hunter, Jon David Hunter and Chad Logan Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse Luther and Jewell Lemore Hunter; brothers, Jesse Luther Hunter Jr. and Harold Maness Hunter; sisters, Marylee Elizabeth Spellings Hunter, Jessie Maurine Spellings Hunter, Abbie Louise Hunter and Racheal Adelia Hunter; and his oldest son, David Earl Hunter.
