Funeral services for Mr. Maurice Milton Bowling will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011 in the Rush Funeral Home, Pitkin with Reverend Chad Longino officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Branch Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pitkin.
Mr. Bowling, 93, of Pitkin entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 28, 2011 in Rosepine Retirement Center.
He was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years, and was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a member of Gause, Texas, First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Sarah Bowling; and his previous wife, Myrtis Davis Bowling.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Mildred Bowling of Gause, TX; one daughter, Bonnie Parham of Pitkin, LA; three grandchildren, Brianna Powell, Maurita Dixon and Michael Parham, Jr.; four great grandchildren, Thomas J. Powell, III, William P. Powell, Samuel C. Powell and Daisy Luann Toothman.
