Ethel Florence Cupper, 81, a resident of Campus Towers, died May 1, 1996, at Cowlitz Convalescent Center in Longview.
She was born April 29, 1915, in Marco, Mont., to Aaron and Alice (Littell) Emerson as the fifth of their 11 children. She moved to Castle Rock from Glendive, Mont., in 1941 and moved to Gig Harbor, Wash., in 1942. She returned to the local area in 1974.
Mrs. Cupper was a homemaker with 13 children. She raised her family in Gig Harbor and Tacoma. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, music, singing and dancing. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer, as well as three sons, Roy, Robert and Kenneth, and four daughters, Elcene Mark, Darlene Kelly, Jean Pendleton and Sharon Purifoy.
She is survived by three sons, Donald Cupper of Booneville, Miss., Harold Cupper of Tacoma and Jack Cupper of Marion, Ind.; three daughters, Loretta Philliber of Tacoma, Carol Tuohy of Chehalis and Thelma Pugh of Omaha, Neb.; three sister, Frances McElhone of Castle Rock, Vera Thayer of Longview and Clara Geer of Winlock; 38 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cupper will be cremated and has requested that there be no funeral. Columbia Funeral Home is in charge.
