She was born January 25, 1926, in Robeson County, a daughter of the late Henry and Mollie Locklear.
Daisy Lee was a devoted wife for 34 years to Levi "Buddy" Brewer, who preceded her in death in 1979. She was also preceded in death by two children: Nellie Francis Brooks and Johnny Brewer; her siblings: Bracey Lowery, Dobb Locklear and Mildred Locklear.
She was a member of New Philadelphus United Methodist Church. She loved going to worship in the house of the Lord. Daisy Lee was a lover of the outdoors. She loved working outside in her garden of flowers and plants. She enjoyed going to the beach to fish on the pier. She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. Her feisty spirit will be missed immensely.
Daisy Lee is survived by her children: Lillian Hammonds of Red Springs, Lathan Brewer and his wife Irene of Red Springs, Larry Brewer and his wife Carolyn of Charlotte, Carlos Brewer and his wife Mary of Shannon, Clyde Brewer of Shannon and Helen Rich of Red Springs. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 38 great-great grandchildren.
