Vigil service and rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016 at St. Mary's with Rev. Michael Moloney, O.F.S. Parochial Administrator of St. Mary's and St. Boniface Catholic Church, and Deacon Don Brown officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Bertha was born November 25, 1918 in Windthorst, Texas to the late Albert Theodore Schroeder and Rose Frances Seith Schroeder. She graduated at the age of fourteen from Windthorst High School.
Bertha married Mike Wolf on January 27, 1937 in Windthorst. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1986.
Bertha was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was kind and gracious to all who knew her and had a beautiful smile. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and never turned down an invitation to anything. She was a very good cook and baking was her specialty.
Bertha was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst where she was a member of Christian's Mothers Society and had been a volunteer with the Family Life and Mission Outreach. She loved her church, her Parish and her community. Bertha had deep faith and was always thankful for all the many things she received in her life.
Survivors include one daughter, Jolene Prescher and husband, Ernie of Windthorst; two sons, Lloyd Wolf and wife, Linda of Windthorst, and Kevin Wolf of Jacksboro; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Wolf of Windthorst; two sisters, Frances Hoffman of Windthorst, and Ida Hoff and husband, George of Windthorst; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Roy Allen Wolf on November 12, 1996; two sisters, Rose Zihlman on May 6, 2004 and Catherine Luig on September 7, 2012; and six brothers, Paul, Fred, Louis, Edward, Jude, and Albert Schroeder, Jr.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310 or to the Windthorst Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 162, Windthorst, Texas 76389.
