Obituary
Virginia "Ginny" Johnson Carter, 103, Fargo, passed away peacefully, on May 13, 2021, at her home, in Fargo.

She was born on February 22, 1918, to Michael and Lena (Decker) Parrow. Ginny grew up on a farm and attended elementary school in Veblen, SD., and high school in Havana, ND. During her school-age years, she and her sister played in their father's, family dance band. After high school graduation, she continued her education, receiving a Standard Teaching Certificate from Ellendale State College. She then taught in country schools.

Ginny married, William Howard Johnson, in 1939, and made Fargo, their home. In 1945, they moved to Bozeman, MT., where they ran their own dry cleaning business. They eventually owned and operated ABC Cleaners, in Fargo.

In Fargo, she worked for NDSU, in the Supervised Study Program. She was later employed as Administrative Assistant to the Commanding Officer at the U.S. Army Recruiting Station, for about 25 years.

In 1995, Howard passed away. Ginny married Keith Carter, of Eugene, OR., in 2001. He passed away in 2006. Ginny spent her last years at Touchmark at Harwood Groves, in Fargo.

She enjoyed both art and music and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, since 1963.

Ginny is survived by step-sons, Jim (Kay) Carter, David (Loydene) Carter, Tom (Bev) Carter, brother-in-law, Gary (Judy) Carter. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eleanor Yackel; two brothers, Darwin and Dean Parrow; step-daughter, Beth Beaudoin; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Fenelon and Bernetta Parrow.

Mass of Christian Burial: 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 17, 2021, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Fargo.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery North, Fargo.
