On the morning of Friday, May 14, 2021, Marguerite Burkhalter went to be with her Lord and Savior in heaven. She was surrounded by family and the memories of 95 years well-lived.
Born on August 9, 1925 in Billingsley, Alabama, Marguerite was the daughter of the late John and Josephine Abbott Chandler.
Most of her life was spent in Prattville, Alabama, where she was a much-loved nurse's aide at Prattville Nursing Home and longtime member of First Baptist Church of Prattville.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Gayle Billingsley (Clark) and Harry W. Burkhalter (Sandra); grandchildren, Brian Burkhalter (Lauryn), Neal Burkhalter (Kathryn), Charlotte Garland (Matt) and Elizabeth Reese (Ken); and great-grandchildren, Tucker, Ansley, Mary Clark, Charlie, Luke, Emmie Kate, Ellis, Ansley, Braden, Casen, Caroline, Helen, Allie, Evelyn and Lucy Neal.
Marguerite's family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. She will be privately laid to rest with a graveside funeral service for her family at 2:30 p.m., in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. Dr. William Hardee will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Marguerite to First Baptist Church of Prattville, Alabama, 138 S. Washington St., Prattville, AL.
