She grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Greenfield, coming later to Waverly, and spent fifty years of her life in and near this city, known and loved by a wide circle of friends. She became the wife of M. W. Armstrong, April 27, 1887, having completed more than 44 years in this relationship at the time of her death. After an extended illness of several months, she died at her home here, Wednesday, May 20, at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 7 days. One daughter by a former marriage, Mrs. John Shearburn, preceded her in death May 30, 1922. One sister, Mrs. Jennie White, of Rock Bridge, Ill., died just seven hours after Mrs. Armstrong's death.
She is survived by her husband, who ministered to her during her long illness and was constantly at her side; one daughter, Mrs. Lettie Rolston, of this city; one brother, W. T. Wylder of Greenfield, one sister, Mrs. C. N. Boyer, of Jerseyville; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Armstrong was converted early in life and has long lived a consistent Christian. She has been a member of the M.E. Church, South, for nearly forty years, being one of the few charter members of the present class in Waverly. She died a peaceful and triumphant death. May her influence and benediction rest in satisfying peace on the hearts of her loved ones left.
