Tony Jo Johnson, 69, Moorhead, formerly of St. Hilaire, died on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Sanford Health Care, Fargo, ND.
On November 17, 1951, Tony was born to Donald and Marlene (Drees) Johnson in Crookston. He lived in St. Hilaire and attended Lincoln High School, graduating in 1969. He married Judy Canard and had a son, Tracy. Tony began driving truck for LB Hartz company, delivering groceries throughout the region. Tony married Diane Jehlicka and had two sons, Cory and Trent. For the last 30+ years, Tony lived and worked in the Fargo/Moorhead area.
Tony was a "stand-out" athlete in high school, competing in football, baseball, and basketball. His drive to compete continued through his adult years as a fastpitch softball player. He loved attending his son's high school and college sports events. Tony enjoyed following Minnesota professional sports teams. For the last few years, he wintered in Arizona.
Tony is survived by three sons, Tracy, Houston, TX, Cory (Molly), Minneapolis, and Trent (Eman), Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Mustafa, Maryem, and Hallie; mother, Marlene, St. Hilaire; siblings, Polly, Terry, Kim, Degee, Todd (Sue), and Tammy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane; father, Donald; step-father, Kenneth Ortloff; and sister, Mary.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Calvary Lutheran Church, St. Hilaire.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., May 22, 2021, at Calvary Lutheran Church, St. Hilaire.
