Mrs. Iva Kirkpatrick
Dies in Hospital
GALENA, Kan. - Mrs. Iva May Kirkpatrick, 63 years old, a resident of this district 30 years, died at 5:22 o'clock this morning in St. John's hospital in Joplin, where she had been a patient since March 5. She had been in ill health two years.
A native of Fayetteville, Ark., Mrs. Kirkpatrick moved to Joplin in 1924 and had resided in Joplin, Galena, Baxter Springs and Treece since that time. Recently she had lived in Treece. She was married to Robert Kirkpatrick of Baxter Springs in 1950, who survives. She was a member of the Pentecostal church.
Surviving are her husband, Robert Kirkpatrick; three sons, Sergeant James David McKinzie, serving with the U.S. army in France; Lawton Earl McKinzie of Eaton, Colo., and Melvin Ray McKinzie of Treece; four daughters, Mrs. Bertha Miller of Nunn, Colo., Mrs. Leonard Ferguson and Mrs. Bernice Hussong of Galena and Bonnie Conrad of Kansas City, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ruth Walker of Baxter Springs; a brother, Grover Sharp of Tulsa; three sisters, Mrs. Ada Simpson of Treece and Mrs. Edna Peekett (*very faint?) of Choteau, Okla., and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral plans are in charge of the Derfelt funeral home.

I just found an obit for this lady under the name of Kirkpatrick.
She was married to Robert Leon Kirkpatrick 15 May 1950 in Benton Co., Arkansas. He survived her.
I can't find out where Robert Kirkpatrick died and is buried. He gave his address as Commerce, Ottawa county, Oklahoma when they were married.
Her former husband was Benjamin Franklin McKinzie # 21912520 who is buried in Hill Crest cemetery.
