Son of Chauncey Knight and Mary Angeline Barnes. Married to Regina K. Konle 5 November 1914. Obit: Bert Knight Rites Saturday - Services for Bert Knight, 75, Valley-rd., who died unexpectedly following a heart attach while driving his auto last evening, will be Saturday at 3 p.m. from the Desnoyer Funeral Home. Rev. Ralph Witmer of the First United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Knight was born June 6, 1893 in Breckinridge, Mich. and had lived most of his life in Petoskey. He worked for Michigan Tanning and Extract Co. for 43 years and the Petoskey Public Schools until retirement in 1961. He married Regina Konle, in Petoskey, in 1914 and she preceeded him in death in 1961. Mr. Knight was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Margaret) Burns, of Petoskey, Mrs. Morell (Lula) Temple, of Oden and Mrs. John (Ardith) Ellenberger and Mrs. Joseph (Joyce) Hines, both of Petoskey; one son, Francis (Bud) Knight, of Petoskey; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Desnoyer Funeral Home. According to state police, Mr. Knight was traveling north on Us-31 and made a left turn into the driveway of his son's residence. He apparently was stricken either before he made the turn into the drive or while he was on the drive, crashing into the garage. --Petoskey News Review, Friday, June 21, 1968.
