James was born to the late James B. and Fannie Mae (Bailey) Mark. He married Vickie Nicole Rheam, celebrating 47 years of marriage on Oct. 7, 2007.

He was a US Navy Veteran, joining the Navy when he was only 16 years old. His mother signed so he could join. He worked hard all his life. He worked various jobs. He also worked on the railroad and drove a truck for RCA. He sold paving equipment out of Sandusky, Ohio for Wikel Mfg. Most of his life James was employed as a superintendent for Dobson Construction Company Asphalt Paving. After retirement he sold asphalt sealer to keep busy.

After going through several heart surgeries over the past three years, God decided to call James home. I know God will have him paving those streets of gold in heaven.

James never met a stranger and had many friends. He helped anyone that needed help. People often called him to chat, asking him for his expertise on a problem or job. James was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by sisters, Marcella Jane Smithart, Anna Childers, Viola Eddy and Lilly Rose; two brothers, Franklin D. Mark and Charles Kindle; daughter, Pammy Jo; and son, Michael Mark.

James dearly loved his two little dogs, Angel and Chauncey.
