MADISON - Larry W. Howe, age 88, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on Dec. 29, 1932, in Madison, the son of Rodney and Pharol (Brinkhoff) Howe.

He married Marlene Kruger on Aug. 25, 1951, at Luther Memorial Church. Larry worked as a project manager for Mobile Glass, retiring at the age of 80. Mid-life he worked as an auctioneer for Public Television and private estates with his wife by his side.

Larry enjoyed gardening, feeding his yard animals, cooking, working crossword puzzles, keeping up with local affairs and watching the Green Bay Packers. He was an avid reader and liked history and following politics. Larry and Marlene enjoyed going to the American Players Theatre to watch Shakespeare plays and to HoChunk casino where they made lasting friendships. They cherished family holiday dinners with their children and grandchildren, as well as their traditional July 4th celebration. Larry also looked forward to bi-weekly breakfasts with his high school classmates. He was loved for his quick wit, keen intellect, colorful sense of style, and many hats.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Marie (Ray Muller) Howe; daughter-in-law, Diane Howe; two grandchildren, Benjamin Howe and Ryan (Kayla) Howe; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Howe and Kamaria Howe; two brothers, Dennis (Judy) Howe and Ronald (Yan) Howe; and sister, Jean (Larry) Gladem.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marlene; daughter, Kristine Lee Howe; and son, Larry Daniel "Dan" Howe.

Private family services will be held. A Celebration of Larry's life will be held at a later date.
