Funeral services for Julia Tomme, 91, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, in Johnson Funeral Home.
The Rev. J.P. Miles will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Tomme died at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2001.
A native of Hall Summit, she had lived in Lake Charles for 55 years. She was a
graduate of Hall Summit High School and of Schumbert School of Nursing in
Shreveport. She helped develop the nursing program at Louisiana Technical
College/Sowela Campus, and she taught nursing there for 20 years. She was a
member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Louis B. Tomme Jr. of Moss Bluff; one brother, Ford
Harper of Hall Summit; five sisters, Pluma Madden and Audrey Peters, both of
Hall Summit, Muriel Sykes of Sierra Madre, Calif., and Agnes Brown and Freda
McAnally, both of Riverside, Calif.; three grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
