Obituary
Darrell Keithly Jackson was born July 16th, 1930 in Center, Missouri to Lowell and Beulah Jackson. He was raised on a farm North of town and was always a farm boy at heart. In 1947 he and his newlywed, Elaine Ledford, picked up and headed to the big city with big dreams.

He and Elaine landed in Denver, Colorado and not long after they welcomed their first-born son, Lester. Fourteen months later they welcomed their daughter, Deborah.

After reading a notice in the newspaper, Darrell took and passed the test for the Denver Fire Department and his name was put on the waiting list. Two years passed before he was given the opportunity to join, and quickly he found his second family who would be a part of his life until the end. He worked at Station #2 and #6 but mainly worked at the Stapleton Airport Fire Station. After 26 years with the department he retired, but it always remained a strong part of who he was.

Ever since he was a little boy, flying was all Darrell ever wanted to do. Working for the fire department was the perfect job as it allowed time for him to study and pass the tests for further flight certifications. After his retirement he decided to start a new career in aeronautics. He and Elaine joined the Ports-of-Call team and took off on an adventure that took them across the world together. After flying for Ports-of-Call for 16 years, Darrell took another stab at retirement which finally took.

Throughout his life Darrell quietly enjoyed many hobbies. He owned many small planes which he took out for relaxing flights. He owned various motorcycles and sometimes rode with his dachshund named Little Bit gently stuffed inside his flight jacket. He always appreciated nice cars and often drove his 1964 Corvair with Elaine and their friends in the Corvair Car Club. Darrell was a quiet man with big dreams which he often followed to the end.

Darrell is survived by his wife Elaine, son Lester, daughter Deborah, daughter-in-law Linda, and son-in-law Thomas. He has 4 grandchildren: Chadd, Heather, Stewart, and Darrell W. He also has 10 great-grandchildren: Meghan Jackson Neeley, Allison, Katelyn, Erin, Colton, Bladen, Malorie-Brooke, Elizabeth, Emerson, and Ella; and 1 great-great-grandson: Maxton Neeley. Last, but not least, is Darrell's beloved dachshund Koko
