Linda Rose Pearson, age 79, passed away Wednesday morning, May 12, 2021. She was born November 27, 1941 in Muskegon to Homer and Winifred (Keur) Clark. Linda was a 1960 graduate of Muskegon High School and had worked as a paraprofessional for the Fruitport School district until her retirement. On January 14, 1961, she married Jeffery J. Yates in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1976. She married William C. "Bill" Pearson on September 7, 1976 in Muskegon, who preceded her in death on February 21, 1986. Linda was a faithful member of Port City Church and was a long-time member of the Fruitport Eagles. She was a very social person and enjoyed gathering for breakfast and lunches with family and friends. Linda is survived by 3 children: Dan (Cathi) Yates of North Carolina, John (JoAnne) Yates of Fruitport, and JayeLynn (Brad) Kostamo of New Era; grandma "Putter" to 8 grandchildren: Lauren (fiancé, Luke George) Yates, Daniel J. Yates, Kyle Yates, Joe Kostamo, Luc (Toni) Kostamo, Savanna Kostamo, Kendra and Wyatt McFarlin; brother, Norm Dodson; sister, Helen (David) Newmyer; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tara Pearson in 2020 and a sister and brother-in-law, Marcia (Ed) Young. The family would like to thank the Doctor's and nursing staff on the 6th floor at Mercy Hospital for the exceptional care given to Linda during this most difficult time. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 7-8 NIV. A Celebration of Linda's Life will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the Port City Church (3387 Heights Ravenna Rd., Muskegon, MI 49444) with Pastor Steve Derdowski officiating. Please note: Masks will be required. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Pine Hill Cemetery, Fruitport. MEMORIALS to the Fruitport Eagles Memorial Fund will be appreciated.
