I now am confident this memorial of W.S. McLane is of my gg grand father who died of typhoid fever while serving with Company K of the 157th Ohio Infantry, one of the 100 day wonders who were drafted in the early summer of 1864. He died in September of 1864. His widow filed for a pension for their 5 children.
