NOTE: Pernie was married to Gordon Presley on April 11, 1936. They divorced on June 18, 1969 in Dallas Texas. Gordon & Pernie Presley are in the 1940 Census living on Kelly St. East Tupelo, Mississippi. They are the parents to Mack Presley, in the Priceville Cemetery, Headstone reads, b. September 8, 1946, d. February 17, 1951, (Death Certificate sates his D.O.B. October 8, 1947, D.O.D. February 17, 1951.)

RED OAK, Texas - Pernie Presley Sayas, 86, died Monday, June 4, 2001, in Red Oak, Texas. She was born Jan. 16, 1915, in Winston County, Ala., to the late Andrew and Mary Jane Mayfield Lovelady. She had lived in Texas more than 50 years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Priceville Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home of Verona is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Janie Katherine Presley Sanders of Grand Prairie, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Annie Presley of Tupelo.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dock Presley and Mr. Sayas, and two sons, Kenneth and Mack Presley.

Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
