Edward Donald Stewart, 81, of Killeen, Texas passed away on May 6, 2021. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM at the Eastside Baptist Church 3213 Lake Rd, Killeen, TX with a Burial to follow at Killeen Memorial Park 3516 Lake Rd, Killeen, TX.

Edward Donald Stewart was born on August 14, 1939 to Stanley Stewart and Bluma Burke Stewart in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He enlisted in the US Army, March 18, 1958.  He served 26 years active duty successfully achieving the second highest rank, Command Sergeant Major.  His exemplary service to our country culminated with an opportunity to receive the highest non-commissioned rank of the Sergeant Major of the Army, however; he chose his family's needs, retiring instead on March 31, 1983.  He then continued serving his country as a Civil Servant being a Quartermaster Supply Control Manager for the GSA.  He concluded his official service to our country with his second retirement in 2004. Edward was a deacon at the Eastlake Baptist Church.  He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time, vacationing in the national parks and fishing.  Edward especially loved spending time with his family.

Edward Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Bluma Stewart; his sisters, Ora Mae Moore, Leo Dell Thompson, Marie Stewart and his brother, Stanley Stewart.

To cherish his memory, he leaves behinds his beloved wife, Hong Yo Stewart; his children: Ronald (Joyce) Stewart, David (Rosemarie) Stewart and Edwina Bullock. He has 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who love him dearly. 

His 6 grandsons will be his pall bearers: David, Thomas, Jonathan, Jeremiah (USAF), Elijah (USMC) and Mark Stewart.
