Graveside funeral services honoring and celebrating the life of Travis M. Jackson will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Mer Rouge Cemetery with the Reverend Christie Fleming officiating. Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Travis Marion Jackson was born at Buffalo, Missouri on November 28, 1937 to the late Henry Marion Jackson and Lelia Ordway Jackson. He passed away, following a brief illness, at his home in Bastrop, Louisiana on May 12, 2021. Along with his parents, Mr. Jackson is preceded in death by his brother Levi and his sister Pat.

Mr. Travis was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, a veteran of the United States Army, and a graduate of Northeast Louisiana State College at Monroe, Louisiana (U.L.M.) . Together he and his wife, Charlotte, owned and operated Ketrachaus Salon in Bastrop. An avid florist and floral designer, Mr. Jackson held the distinction of Master Florist. He taught floral design at U.L.M. for 15 years and he enjoyed designing and creating beautiful floral arrangements. Travis loved people. He was gifted with the personality and uncanny ability to make one's day brighter with his smile, charm, and wit. Above all, he was a beloved husband, father, Papa to his grandchildren, and friend to many.

Mr. Travis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte Jackson; his two children, Kevin Jackson, and Kelli Jackson McConaughey and her husband, Randy. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Dr. Zachary A. Jackson and his wife, Natalie, Nolan McConaughey, Dr. Brantlee McConaughey and his wife, Haley, and Taylor McConaughey; a great-granddaughter, Aria Surratt; and a host of extended family and many friends.
