John C. "Jack" Armstrong, 74, of Ottawa, passed away, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 with his loving daughters by his side.

A Celebration of Life service for Jack and Peggy will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the home of Brandi Armstrong, 1530 S. Poplar Street, Ottawa, Kansas.

Jack was born Friday, October 18, 1946, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Ralph C. and Marie (Doty) Armstrong.

He was a lifelong Ottawa resident.

Jack attended Kemper Military Academy and Junior College.

He was united in marriage to Peggy A. Rybolt July 3, 1970, at Ottawa. They were happily married 50 years and had two daughters, Brandi and Keli. Peggy preceded him in death on December 30, 2020.

Jack was a lifelong hydraulic heavy truck mechanic working for Kalmar in Ottawa otherwise known as Ottawa Truck from 1976 to 1985 and E1 Trucks from 1986 to 1993 in Ocala, Florida.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1969 in Germany.

Jack was a former member of Over the Road Gang and Aerie Lodge 2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles of Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy and parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Brandi Armstrong of Ottawa, and Keli Armstrong of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; sister, Naomi Ruth Pohl of Ohio; three grandchildren, Hope Pierce-Armstrong (Heddy) of Lawrence, Shane Armstrong of Humbolt, and Tyler Baker of Ottawa; and two great grandchildren, Grayson Pierce-Brown, and Merritt F. Pierce-Armstrong both of Lawrence.

Jack enjoyed building cars, attending car shows and spending time with his family and friends.
