Betty J. Hamilton, 70, of Columbus, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Keepsake Village of Columbus. Betty was born August 19, 1950, in Red Boiling Springs, TN., the daughter of John S. and Dimple M. Huffines York. On May 7, 1974, she married Paul F. Hamilton. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2021. Survivors include her brother, David (Karen) York of Columbus; niece, Crystal (Ricky) York; nephews, Johnny York, Jr., Michael (Stacy) York; brothers-in-law, David (Maureen) Pope, Dale Pope, Donald (Carol) Pope, all of Columbus; sisters-in-law, Darlene (Paul) McDaniel of Dupont and Amy York. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul and brother, John York, Sr. The funeral service for Paul and Betty will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Larry Duncan officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. We do ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines inside the funeral home and masks are required. A live stream of the funeral service may be viewed at 1:00 p.m. Friday at barkesweaverglick.com. Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton will be laid to rest together at Garland Brook Cemetery.
