George, a generous, intelligent man who loved to work with his hands and could fix virtually anything placed in front of him. George was proud of his sons-in-law, loved his daughters and lived for his grandchildren. George is survived by his one and only True Love of 33 years his wife Ronda (Joyce); brothers, Marshall (Phyllis) Bates, and Larry Bates; three sisters, Marjorie (Kenny) Carpenter, Sharon (Doug)Jester and Betty (Mike) Wiesniewski; three daughters, Avain Whittingham (Eric) of Gurdon, Kiesha Shelton (Michael) of Camden and Leah Dorsey (Josh) of Gurdon and 7 grandchildren, Wesley, Emma, Max, Abbi, Braxton, Vonn, and Jett.
Visitation will be held Monday July 8 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Gurdon AR. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be Tuesday July 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Hedge Cemetery.
